Redball
Express

The time is 1944, the place is war-torn France. The Allies are poised for the great drive to liberate France from the Nazis. The troops, tanks, and guns are ready and waiting. But unless the vital supplies keep flowing in, the Allied armies will ground to a halt. Can you indeed "Win the war by Christmas of '44"?

Red Ball Express is a unique combination of a trucking game and a wargame. You only indirectly control the combat units, but your decisions control the course of the war in 1944, because even Patton doesn't move forward without gas.

7/18/2003 New version 1.3 - Removed unnecessary detail, music now standard.

10/05/2003 New version 1.4 - Revamped the scenarios, added non-Rest Area.

Unfortunately, you are too late to download this game. It has been removed from this site due to size constraints. You can email me at the address below about acquiring a copy.

Install the Game

  1. Unzip redgame.zip. This file can be easily unzipped via the WinZip utility found (among other places) at home.cnet.com

  2. Run the setup program to actually install the game. It will prompt you for the directory to install in. Your "install directory" can be c:\SWB\redball or whatever else you choose.

  3. NOTE: If you run the game from the Launch menu at the end of the install, it will run okay, but will be in the wrong directory for saves. Just use the controls in the save menu to put you in c:\SWB\redball or wherever.

Clean up and Enjoy

  1. Remove the temp directory and it's contents.
  2. Click Start, then Programs, then Redball to play.
